Helpful information on our documents

House Development Guides

The Housing Development Guides have been updated for Whitlam. The updates outline new information regarding the contours of some blocks which are different than originally published.

If you have any question relating to this revised document please email us at [email protected] or give us a call on 1800 777 952.

Your home must be designed in accordance with these guidelines. The Housing Development Guide contains information of the blocks within the estate and specific requirements for each block. This includes block details plans which include contours and block fill plans. View the Housing Development Guides by searching for them above.

  • The Block Details Plan shows contours, easements and other information related to specific blocks of land. Each block has a ‘section number’ and a ‘block number’, which allows it to be uniquely identified compared to all the other blocks in the suburb. Your block number is not the same as your street number.
  • The Block Fill Plan shows the amount of cut and fill (measured in metres) for different blocks of land. This is important for understanding what is in the ground on your block.

Site Classifications

Also referred to as a soil test report or geotech report, this is a report prepared by a qualified geotechnical engineer on the soil conditions of your site, assessed in accordance with the Australian Standard. A high-level site classification report will be available from the Suburban Land Agency once earthworks are complete.

Deposited Plans 

The Deposited Plan means the plan relating to the land and registered under Section 7 of the Districts Act 2002 (ACT). This defines the legal boundaries of land and often records subdivisions and easements. View the Deposited Plans by searching for them above.

Whitlam Verge Bond refund form

As part of the construction of your new home, you are required to protect the verge assets during construction and make good any damage upon completion of your landscape works. The verge includes the area forward of your property boundary line to the kerb and gutter.

To ensure the verges are returned to their original state post construction, a $1000 bond was required at the time of settlement. Within six months of receiving your certificate of occupancy and no later than 30 months after settlement of your block, and once the verge is returned back to its original and established condition, the bond can be reimbursed to you via the application form.

Don’t forget to keep your verge protected and complete your Whitlam Verge Bond application form.

Whitlam Home Energy Rebate

The Home Energy Rebate Program offers $10,000 to buyers who make design choices to improve their energy efficiency, produce their own power and reduce the urban heat of their homes in Whitlam. It sets out actions to design an all-electric, more energy-efficient home that is more comfortable and has lower running costs.
