Web accessibility ensures that people with disability can use websites and other tools, including.
- navigating and interacting with web content
- perceiving and understanding information
- engaging with the web.

Our target is Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at the following levels:
- Level A and AA, at full compliance
- Level AAA, where possible.
We create all websites to work on a range of:
- web browsers
- accessibility hardware
- accessibility software
- connection speeds
- display sizes.

Downloadable documents
The ACT Government is committed to provide the community with accessible information and resources.
Work is currently underway to make all documents accessible. Where possible, PDF documents will also be provided in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). In some cases we may not be able to provide Microsoft Word versions. For example, documents that have been produced by third party software or scanned documents.
In line with standard practice all document attachments will open into a new window.
Please note that you can request any document on this website by using the details on the Contact us page in either of the the following formats:
- printed on paper
- documents to be made available in an alternative format such as plain text file.
If you have difficulty reading a standard printed document and would like to receive any of our publications in an alternative format – such as large print or audio – please telephone 13 22 81.
Non-English speakers
If you would like to speak to someone over the phone in another language, call Telephone Interpreter Service (TIS) on 131 450 for a free interpreting service. It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
