In 2016, the ACT Government released Canberra: A statement of ambition. This landmark document and strategy has set the foundation for the city’s continued success in attracting national and international investment and development.

Statement of ambition
Canberra's 2016 statement of ambition recognised a shift towards more mixed-use urban centres – where people can live, work and play – as key to creating a successful 'knowledge economy'.
This means all our community and commercial developments prioritise easier access between homes, workplaces, entertainment and amenities and the incredible native flora and fauna of our region.
Our vision
To ensure the ACT’s ambition continues to grow, the 2018 ACT Planning Strategy has set out a clear vision to create a sustainable, competitive and equitable Canberra. These two documents play a vital role in guiding ACT’s development and are key resources for developers to draw on.
