Artists have taken over kitchen benches, dining tables and rolled benches into our garages!

In three display homes are 55 artworks. They are part of an exhibition called Of Land and Belonging. Curator Hanna Hoyne and some of the artists are taking over some of the spaces in these homes.
Every Saturday at noon and 1pm, there will be a house tour. It will be guided by one of the artists whose work is on show in the three homes.
Cuppa and Create is a drop-in session every Saturday from 1pm – 3pm. We supply the creatives to chat to, a comfy beanbag in the sun or a desk sheltered from the weather, the cuppa (and a bickie or two of course!). You bring along that project you’ve been meaning to give some time to. If it's sketching, crochet, journaling, watercolor – whatever the creative pursuit. If it's easy to carry, bring it along. Create with local artists and other like-minded people.
For over two decades, John Reid has been working on a series of live events. He has made photographic documentation and creative texts. They are part of an artwork called ‘Walking the Solar System’. John is running 6 sessions across 3 Sundays at the SLA Display Village, Whitlam. He is inviting you to join him in expanding this artwork and go on your own solar walk. No experience necessary, approximate time commitment of 1hr, everyone welcome.
Every street in Whitlam is named after an artist. Building on this theme, SLA has worked with artists and local high school students on street art in our Display Village, commissioned sculptures created from waste and murals in public spaces. Inhabit Whitlam is another way SLA is working alongside creatives and helping to connect artists to community and the community to art!
All activities are free. Registration is only needed for John Reid’s Sunday Solar Walks.
