How to get involved
Here’s your checklist to tendering for SLA projects.
Many of our projects are procured under Whole-of-Government arrangements, with lead buyers designated across ACT Government directorates. Suppliers interested in working with SLA are encouraged to familiarise themselves with these arrangements via Procurement ACT.
- Prequalification with the ACT Government is required for principal contractors and town planning consultants, including financial and systems checks managed by Infrastructure Canberra. Prequalification includes submission of three years of audited financial statements and evidence of work management systems.
- Secure Local Jobs Code certification is mandatory for suppliers in construction, transport, cleaning, and security to ensure ethical labour standards. Learn more.
- SLA civil contracts use the ACT-adapted GC21 suite, supporting collaborative delivery and compliance with WHS legislation.
- Planning and design consultants must understand the Planning Act 2023, Territory Plan, and District Strategies, which guide land use and development in the ACT.
- Are you an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander business? SLA supports First Nations businesses through the ACT Government’s partnership with Supply Nation, promoting diverse and inclusive procurement. Find out more about how to register your business.
