Join us for Grow Green – Soils, potting mixes and fertility – the third workshop in our 2025 ‘Growing Food Through the Seasons’ series hosted by Fiona from the Ainslie Urban Farm, in collaboration with Suburban Land Agency.

The Grow Green workshop is a two-hour session where Fiona will teach you all the basics of soils, potting mixes and how to build healthy soil that grows healthy plants.

You’ll be learning about topics including

  • Soil, potting mixes and how soil health supports healthy plants
  • How to improve soil fertility

You’ll get your hands dirty too, with these practical elements

  • You’ll learn how to pH test soil
  • You’ll learn how to add amendments to improve soil
