With special guest and international award-winning landscape designer and Logie award-winning television presenter Jamie Durie OAM, this event promises a day filled with insightful panel discussions, hands-on demonstrations, live music and fun kids activities so the entire family can enjoy.

Learn from the experts who designed and built the low-carbon and multi-generational homes, showcasing a series of sustainable design features

Indulge your tastebuds with induction cooking workshops from renowned chef Mal Hanslow of Pilot & Such and Such restaurants, and see how induction cooktops offer energy-efficient, safe and easy cooking solutions.

Plus enjoy kids activities from ACT No Waste and Box City, and live music throughout the day. Don’t miss the free BBQ from Tuggeranong Rotary Club and delicious treats from Whitlam’s Heartbeat Café.

Join award-winning landscape architect and television presenter Jamie Durie OAM as he provides firsthand experience of building his own sustainable home, the challenges he faced and new approaches he learnt along the way. Explore how to make sustainable choices inside and outside your home!

Induction Cooking Demonstrations with Mal Hanslow

Indulge your tastebuds with induction cooking workshops from renowned chef Mal Hanslow of Pilot & Such and Such restaurants, and see how induction cooktops offer energy-efficient, safe, and easy cooking solutions.

SLA Platinum and Gold Home Tours

Learn about building sustainable, resilient homes as our experts walk you through the SLA Display Homes. Oriented and sealed for good thermal comfort, equipped with solar panels and batteries to power the all-electric, energy-efficient appliances throughout, these homes are designed to demonstrate best practices in sustainability.

Expert panel discussion

The panel, hosted by Jamie Durie, includes Jane Cassidy from the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA), Greg Weller, Housing Industry Association (HIA), Lisa Lockey from Powerhaus, Michael Hopkins from Master Builders Australia (MBA) ACT, and Bec Kay from SLA, as they dig deep into the benefits of designing homes with a smaller footprint for bigger sustainable outcomes. 

Collaborators and kids activities, music and food

Join Box City, a great kid’s activity the whole family can enjoy!  Upcycle boxes to create buildings, boats, birds – whatever you can imagine!

ACT No Waste will also be on hand providing advice and information on recycling and bin management, and fun take homes for the kids.

Live music and a free BBQ from Tuggeranong Rotary Club will also be available from 11am.
