Taylor Land Rent Scheme

We are excited to announce that the Suburban Land Agency will soon have a number of blocks available under the Land Rent Scheme in Taylor.

The Land Rent Scheme is part of the ACT Government's Affordable Housing Action Plan. The scheme gives people the option of renting land through a land rent lease  to build a home on, rather than purchasing the land outright.

To be eligible for these blocks there are a number of requirements you will need to meet in order to take part in the ballot.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Household income does not exceed $160,000
  • Lessee must reside in the property
  • Lessee cannot own other real estate (in any state or territory in Australia or overseas)

To find out more about these criteria and the Land Rent Scheme visit https://www.revenue.act.gov.au/home-buyer-assistance/land-rent-scheme

Some changes have been made to the Land Rent Scheme and ballot process. You are required to attend a Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) course as a requirement to be eligible for a Land Rent lease.

There are a number of upcoming courses at CIT; to make a booking or for further information on the sessions send an email to infoline@cit.edu.au or phone 02 6207 3188.
