Recent research from the Climate Council has found that building a 7-star energy efficient home in Canberra can save you up to $450 per year on energy bills and reduce emissions by 25%, compared to a 6 star home!
At the Innovation Precinct, all homes were built to comply with the energy efficiency provisions of the National Construction Code (NCC). The Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) assessments provide a star rating out of 10 that indicates the thermal performance of a home.
The energy ratings are:
- Sales and Information Centre and Mingle Community Hub – 7.8
- SLA's Silver Level Livable Home – 6
- SLA's Gold Level Livable Home – 6.9
- SLA's Platinum Level Livable Home – 6.7
