Inhabit Whitlam - artists in residence

Inhabit Whitlam is an artist residency program where some local artists whose works are displayed in the SLA’s Display Homes will be inhabiting the houses to showcase and work on their art.

Meet artists, visit open studios, make art, get creative, drop-in sessions, artist tours of sustainable display homes and more.

Seven artists occupy three sustainable homes, turning kitchens, courtyards and garages into spaces for sharing and creating art.

Saturdays - on now until 30 June 2024

Art tours - 11am and 12pm 

Approx. 40min sessions

A guided tour by one of the exhibiting artists about the 55 curated works shown in three inspiring climate wise display homes. There are stairs involved in the tour for those able to use them, but plenty of areas and artworks accessible without going upstairs or downstairs.

Cuppa and create drop-in sessions - 1pm – 3pm

Is there a creative project you wish you devoted more time to? Bring along your sketch book, journal, crochet, watercolours – anything you like and sit with other creatives – be inspired by our working artists. Share ideas, inspiration and a cuppa. Tables, chairs, beanbags available – all welcome.

Open studio: Drop in anytime 10:30 – 3:30

Chat with the artists, view the works on loan (and for sale) and stay for a cuppa.
