Welcome to North Wright

The North Wright Sustainable Precinct by Suburban Land Agency is a boutique house and land opportunity. Developed in two stages, the precinct will include 43 architecturally designed, all-electric homes with compact, adaptable floorplans aimed at achieving net zero carbon footprints.

Each home is separately titled with no body corporate fees. Connected to landscaped gardens and open space, a nature play park and picnic area which fosters community connection.

Guiding principles

Climate-wise Living

Each home has been designed to achieve a net zero carbon footprint across its life cycle. Using best practise sustainable building methods and materials, passive solar design and renewable energy production, these homes will achieve a 7.2 to 8.9 Star energy efficiency (NATHERS) rating. 

Small Footprint Housing

The architect-designed compact floorplans are flexible and multi-functional. Carports can be used as pergolas, and outdoor spaces turned into extra bedrooms. Raked ceilings make the space feel larger and brighter with natural light. The small footprint design leaves room for garden spaces that can be used all year round.

The Missing Middle

The precinct represents the “missing middle” housing style —a thoughtful design that bridges the gap between detached houses and apartments. Each terrace block is separately titled, which means you are not paying any body corporate fees and you can make your home and garden truly yours.

Sustainable Design

Our planning and design process is rooted in connection to Country, climate resilience, and co-design with the community. It is a design that supports the wellbeing of all, with room to play and places to meet your neighbours.

Shade trees and a mix of native and climate-resilient landscaping throughout the precinct will provide natural cooling and wildlife habitat.

Circular Economy

Building materials are carefully chosen and are either renewable, recycled or re-usable materials. Green concrete, recycled bricks, renewable and durable cladding solutions have been used throughout the precinct.

Construction update - North Wright Sustainable Precinct

An update about our Showcase Homes and precinct's construction.

Construction at the North Wright Sustainable Precinct has been very productive! This new development is changing how people live in Canberra by focusing on energy-efficient, comfortable, and eco-friendly homes. Our Showcase Homes are now open for visits.

Construction Updates

  • Showcase Homes complete: The Showcase Homes were finished almost 6 months early. These homes show off all the impressive sustainable features and designs. You can visit them from 10am to 2pm, Thursday to Sunday, on Ian Mudie Lane, Wright. Parking is on Thwaites Crescent.
  • The south side of the precinct: Joinery (cabinets and fittings) is being installed, tiling is almost done, and eco-friendly Marmoleum flooring is being laid. Plumbing and electrical work are also finished.
  • The north side of the precinct: Carpentry work is ongoing, tiling is nearly done, and painting inside the homes is happening now.
  • Landscaping: Work is continuing across the whole area with courtyard walls, paving, and new plants. Shared spaces like picnic and play areas are also being developed quickly.

Sustainable Building Practices

  • Eco-Friendly Materials: The use of Marmoleum flooring (eco-friendly material) and energy-efficient fixtures are key features in this stage of construction. It's great to see the development of future shared spaces and gardens that will improve community living and help the environmental sustainability of this project.
