A Total Fire Ban (TOBAN) has been declared for the whole of the ACT from midnight Monday 27 January 2020 to midnight Friday night 31 January 2020, with the possibility of being extended.

During a total fire ban you should not:

  • Light, maintain or use a fire in the open air;
  • Use fireworks;
  • Undertake high risk activities such as
    • Welding
    • Grinding
    • Soldering
    • Gas cutting
  • Use slashers or harvest machinery in rural areas.

Always remain extremely vigilant on days of total fire bans.

Please take extreme caution while driving or parking vehicles and machinery in long grassed areas, mowing yards, or visiting remote wilderness or forested areas.
