There are still plenty of options in the Canberra housing market for investors, families and builders following a strong week of land sales across the ACT.

Single residential blocks sold in Throsby, Moncrieff and Taylor over the last week, with a lot of interest in all of Canberra’s newest housing estates.

Throsby remains one of Canberra’s most exciting opportunities for people from all walks of life, looking for somewhere to live within 20 minutes of the city and still close to nature.

While six blocks sold over the counter on Saturday there are still plenty of options available within a short walk to Mulligan’s Flat or a 10 minute drive to the Gungahlin town centre.

At Taylor, 13 premium blocks went under the hammer on Wednesday night with all-but two either sold or under negotiation.

The blocks face onto the Taylor ponds and parkland, are within a short drive to main arterials like Horse Park Drive and within walking distance to the new primary school at Taylor, which will take its first students in 2019.

In Moncrieff, one investor purchased a package of six blocks at auction for a total of $1,250,000 on Wednesday night. The sale indicated the continued strong interest in Canberra’s far north, with blocks selling fast not only in Moncrieff but also Taylor.

In the Molonglo Valley, some of Wright and Coombs’ last single residential blocks will be snapped up during the block selection appointments, which will begin on Saturday 19 May.

Always a competitive market, 194 single residential blocks will be allocated to registrants from across the Canberra community, all looking to find a home at the foot of Mt Stromlo and within a stone’s throw of the Molonglo River.
