Book Box LaunchMolonglo Valley Book Box

The Molonglo Valley book box works as a free book exchange where the community can come together to meet, and share books. Residents are invited to pick up a book (or two or three) to take home and enjoy, or to place any books they would like to share with their community. The book box is designed to be used by all ages, so it is important that any books shared are appropriate.

The book box was initiated by a resident as part of the Mingle program and was delivered in partnership with students at Charles Weston School, the ACT Woodcraft Guild and Communities@Work.

The box structure was made by the ACT Woodcraft Guild, who assembled the box at Charles Weston School with the help of students. It was then decorated using images selected through a design competition at the school. A student vote determined four designs that were incorporated in the box’s final decoration.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the book box please email
