Molonglo Valley is Canberra's newest region, located approximately 10 kilometres south west of the CBD between Weston Creek and Belconnen.

The development of Molonglo Valley will be staged over a number of years, and will eventually be home to several new suburbs. Wright and Coombs were the first two suburbs to be released in Molonglo Valley, and works have commenced in Denman Prospect. The fourth suburb will be Whitlam.

The Molonglo Valley Region Map indicates the following three stages of the region's development:

  • Stage 1 - Suburbs of Coombs and Wright, and the region of North Weston
  • Stage 2 - Suburbs of Denman Prospect and Molonglo
  • Stage 3 - Suburbs north of the Molonglo River

Molonglo Valley will include schools, local shops, parks, green spaces and playgrounds to help connect the community to the location. Find out more about the current status and future planning for Molonglo Valley.

Residents will have easy access to some of Canberra’s premier outdoor playgrounds, including the Molonglo River Corridor, the National Arboretum Canberra, the National Zoo and Aquarium and Stromlo Forest Park.
