What is happening to the overhead powerlines in Lawson?

The smaller (11kV) powerlines in Stage 1 are being relocated and placed underground as part of the Stage 1C civil construction works. At this stage there has been no decision has been made regarding the larger (132kV) powerlines that traverse the southern part of Lawson. 

Will there be shops in Lawson?

There are no shops planned for the first stage at Lawson, however if and when subsequent stages progress, there may be an opportunity for a small commercial/retail site. 

What has been done about the site contamination/asbestos in Lawson?

Remediation has been undertaken to remove asbestos pipes and building rubble left on site from previous land uses in Stages 1A, 1B and 1D. The remediation was conducted in accordance with an Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) endorsed Remedial Action Plan. 

When will the construction of Lawson be complete?

Civil Construction (roads, services, etc) in Stage 1C is anticipated to be completed in early 2015. Settlement on blocks will occur progressively from about February through to September 2015. At this time you will be able to lodge your application to build your house. The rest of Lawson (Stages 1A and 1B and Stage 2) will be developed over the coming years. 

How big are the single residential blocks in Lawson?

The single residential blocks in Lawson range in size from 250m2 to 1540m2. The majority of the blocks are approx 450 – 500m2
