Flemington Road Precinct
Gungahlin’s fastest growing corridor, Flemington Road, is ideally positioned to capture the rapidly evolving demands of the ever increasing population of North Canberra. Located close to parklands and Gungaderra Creek, Flemington Road is the main transit corridor linking Mitchell with the Gungahlin Town Centre.
Flemington Road stretches for two kilometres between Well Station Drive and Kate Crace Street, and is identified in the Territory Plan for higher density development. The Precinct is earmarked to become a vibrant and thriving urban boulevard that will contain the future Inter-Town Public Transportation (IPT) route to Civic.
The area will provide surrounding suburbs with village centres/local centres and entrance features. Future residents will be able to take advantage of the range of schools, open space systems and parks within the neighbouring suburbs of Franklin and Harrison.
Flemington Road will be an attractive and vibrant location with a range of active and Mixed Uses that encourage travel options such as walking, cycling and public transport.
